The Rugrats Theory

The truth behind the "Rugrats" is the sad struggle between Angelica Pickles' hallucinations and her perception of reality.
Angelica is 9 year old girl with a very traumatic history. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia at an early age, but she also showed very overt symptoms of major depression and mania due to her trauma. She was later diagnosed with having bipolar disorder. As a result, she created the world of the "Rugrats" to cope with the experiences of her personal life. All the characters - except a few - did not actually exist.
Her cousin, Tommy, was a stillborn; Spike snapped on Didi in the backyard, leaving her in critical condition. Stu was forced to put him down with a steak knife and screwdriver. Overcome with the emotion of dealing with his son dying and killing his dog for attacking his wife, he decided to bury Spike in the the exact same spot where he put him down to hide what he had done (this is where the sandbox was supposed to be). Stu eventually withdrew from society and went into a deep depression; constantly works in his basement making toys for the son who never had a chance to live. This is the main place Angelica tends spends most of her time when she is visiting her Aunt and Uncle. Dr. Werner Lipschitz is not actually a doctor, but a guidance counselor that visits them from time to time to make sure they are doing alright.
The DeVilles were a lesbian couple in a domestic partnership. Angelica never understood the concept of homosexuality, and insisted that there had to be a man and a woman. Since Betty was a "dike," she considered her to be the man of the relationship. That soon changed when Betty was brutally raped on her way home from her routine midnight jog. This resulted in her getting pregnant. After finding out she was going to have a baby, Angelica concluded that Betty must be the mother because fathers can’t have babies. The DeVilles eventually had an abortion and Angelica couldn't figure out whether it would have been a boy or a girl, so she envisioned them as identical twins.
Angelica's mom, Cynthia, overdosed from cocaine abuse when Angelica was just a baby. Her father, Drew, (who is a travels alot for business) began abusing prescription drugs to try and cope with his depression after her death. Eventually, he meets a beautiful, young woman, Charlotte, that manipulates him into marrying her after 4 months of dating. She is narcissistic and displays little concern or compassion for others, yet Angelica idolized her because she convinced herself that Charlotte is her real mom. However, she always had a concept of what her real mom, Cynthia, looked like. She used a barbie doll to mirror her birth mother's image - wearing an unwashed orange dress with a grimy hairstyle - which is why she was so attached to it.
Chuckie Finster died in a car accident alongside his mother Melinda; that's why his father Chaz is a nervous wreck all the time. He sunk deeper in denial because he could never accept the fact that Melinda was secretly a prostitute. On a trip to paris to find love, Chaz became infatuated with a pole dancer named Kira (He was originally going to marry a different hooker, but she just wanted him for his money). Kira once had a daughter named Kimi, but the baby was taken from her by social services, and put into foster care because she was constantly having problems with substance abuse. Angelica imagined Kimi from all the stories Kira would tell of her. Upon return to America, Chaz married Kira, and she got her green card. It was a surprisingly happy and romantic story. Kira continually struggled with addiction, but was relatively happy with her new life with Chaz.
However, unborn Tommy's brother, Dil was not fictional, but Angelica couldn’t distinguish between Dil and her creations. Dil didn't follow her commands, and after endless crying and a refusal to disappear like the others did when Angelica was angry with them, she she hit him. After she hit him, he screamed a screeching tune, and Stu ran in and pulled his niece off of his only child, but it was too late. Dil had a brain hemorrhage, which resulted in a deformation. As he grew up, his damage became more evident, and by the time he was 9 in All Grown Up! he lived as an outcast, being ridiculed for his weirdness and retardation. The immense guilt over this is what caused Angelica to stop using drugs, and to un-create the rugrats briefly, until her experience with hallucinogenics. This brought her back to her childhood, thus creating a world in her mind that she obsessed over again. Because of her addictions and her mental state, Angelica was expelled from society, which lead to a break with reality
Suzie was also real and Angelica's only friend, who entertained the thought of Angelica's creations because they seemed to make her happy. She later became a psychologist and teamed up with Nickelodeon to make the Rugrats. When Angelica died of an apparent overdose, Suzie helped arrange her funeral.

Static Shock

Since I'm a huge fan of static shock I figured I should try doing a full page piece in my large sketchbook today.

Killer Kung Fu Ninja Panda

So I was watching Frank Ocean's swim good music video and I was like whoa he is a kung fu killer ninja panda...hence the killer panda lol I thought it would be cool to try having a semi silhouette with minor tones to accent the kimono and blood on the sword.

Baby wolverine sketch

Decided to enhance a sketch that I did a while ago and use my new phones camera effects. I must say that the EVO LTE is a legit iPhone killer lol since it can turn a pencil drawing into a piece of art

Webcomics without computers

http://instagr.am/p/PnPjJuAcQQ/

So I am trying to get this whole webcomic thing down and having a no computer is kind of daunting, but I won't give up. Luckily we have a bye week so I have all weekend to master it.

I guess ill start a webcomic

So I was thinking of how to approach this whole comic book thing. Off and on I was debating on just starting a webcomic to not only build up a fan base but showcase my ability to write as well as draw. That was also confirmed by someone asking why I don't just start a webcomic lol. So naturally I think I'm going to take that challenge on. Unfortunately, I am without a computer so it looks like I'm stuck doing things the traditional way. With a sketchbook, ink pens, colored pencils, and a smartphone.

Sorry for the wait.

So for all my followers out there that wondered what happened to me over the past month. No I did not forget about you. I've just been tied up with preparing for my first game, dealing with a broken computer, and trying to get a new phone among other things. Fortunately, I still do keep my sketch book on me. I got the new EVO 4g LTE for sprint and I'm loving it. Way better than the iphone 4, 4s, 5g, 7p, whatever... It is by far the best out. Like I was saying earlier, had a good first game taking down #13 ranked Wisconsin. Had a solo tackle on Montee Ball, and broke up a pass from a Tight End that had me by 5 inches and 40+ pounds. In the midst of all that I added just about ten pages to my sketchbook since my last post. So keep coming back to see what I came up with over my time. Follow me on instagram @stuck_ona_eyelnd to see my WIP.

Time flies like starships

Final night of camp staying in the dorms. Before I knew it things happened and now its almost over. Now I'm sitting down thinking "whoa it's crazy how things just fly by over time." I'm just a spectator watching life on the big screen.

Hula Sketch

Decided to add some color to my Sketchbook today. Surprisingly I didn't perv out as much as I thought I would. I figured I had all there color pencils and I never really use them, so I decided to combine that with black and white ink to get a great contrast.
I chose the hula girl because the first take I did didn't really do hula much justice. This one shows her elegantly moving with a colorful yet natural scheme of peach, yellow, green, and blue to accent her natural beauty.

Dim The Lights Animation

So Here is my first animated short. I wanted to do something pretty intricate but I realized after working on it 20 hours that this is by far the hardest thing I have ever done... so check it out.
below is some artwork I used in it.

Screw U Sketch

I wanted to try and do something stupid for a change. I came up with the idea that a hulk type character is fearsome, but there is always that one bad@$$ kid that isn't afraid of nothing. What would happen if those two were to cross paths? I wanted it to be subtle yet still get the point across.
This is also when I came up with the idea for my new character, Roscoe, who is holding the balloon in the background.

Mario Sketch

For some reason I always find myself drawing a depressed or serious sketch. I figured I would try something different and give a joyous character a more serious side for once. I based it off of a few ideas I stumbled across on deviantart.com.

Pikachu X Ironman Daily Sketch

So I have been trying to stay up to date with all my sketches and I have been failing at that. Oh Well
With this sketch I wanted to do something fun. Kinda go back to my roots. When I was trying to come up with ideas, someone on instagram suggested I should do something on Ironman as a baby or little kid. So I figured I would bring some humor to it by having two randomly arranged characters come together over a very popular pastime...video games.

Deadpool X Hulk Daily Sketch

With today's sketch, one of my friends on instagram wanted to see something with the Hulk wreaking havoc. So I decided to do a sorta chibi/baby version of what would happen if the Hulk was let loose at daycare. Obviously, he would be told to stop, and hulk never wants to stop smashing things. So you see him pouting on the ground saying, "that's that sh*t I don't like." Yes, that is from Chirf Keef's popular song. To make it even more entertaining, I added a baby Deadpool doing what he does best. "Bang, Bang!!"

Rugrats Theory Daily Sketch

Here is my take on the Rugrats Theory that went viral over the past year. I wanted to make it more of a realistic one than the one's that I saw on deviantart and around the internet. Since there weren't any produced yet, I decided to make on for my self.
5X8 Sketch, Toned in Photoshop.

If you haven't heard of it you can read it below:
The Rugrats really were a figment of Angelica's imagination.
Chuckie died a long time ago along with this mother; that's why Chaz is a nervous wreck all the time. {C}Tommy was a stillborn; that's why Stu is constantly in the basement making toys for the son who never had a chance to live. Spike died shortly after, and the family decided to bury him in the backyard (where the sand box was supposed to be). The DeVilles had an abortion. Angelica couldn't figure whether it would be a boy or a girl, thus creating the twins.
As for "All Grown Up," Angelica was a bipolar schizophrenic, who, as a teenager, became addicted to various narcotics, bringing her back to her childhood, thus creating a world in her mind that she obsessed over. Because of the time lapse between the present and the last time she interacted with her imaginary world, she made them older. Angelica was constantally taking hits of acid so she would never have to live without her creations. To her, her creations were her only company in a judgemental world.
Angelica's mom actually died of a heroin overdose. Angelica was schizophrenic and bipolar because she was a crack baby. Additionally, Drew, in his depression, married a gold digging whore that Angelica idolized because she fooled herself into thinking it was her real mom. However, she always had a concept of her mom, Cynthia. She used a barbie doll to mirror her birth mother's image--wearing an unwashed orange dress and jacked up hair--which is why she was so attached to it. Later in life she followed in her mother's footsteps, dying of overdose at age 13 when All Grown Up! was "cancelled."
The only rugrat not to be fictional however, was unborn Tommy's brother, Dil. However, Angelica didn't know the difference between Dil and her creations. Dil didn't follow her commands and after endless crying and a refusal to disappear like the others did when Angelica was angry with them, so she hit him. After she hit him, he screamed a screeching tune, and Stu ran in and pulled his neice off of his only child, but it was too late. Dil had a brain hemorrage, which resulted in a deformation. As he grew up, his damage only became more evident, and by the time he was 9 in All Grown Up! he lived as an outcast, being ridiculed for his weirdness and retardation. The immense guilt over this is what caused Angelica to start using drugs, and to un-create the rugrats briefly, until her experience with hallucinogenics.
Chaz lost his mind after the death of his first wife and was in denial that she was ever a prostitute. On a trip to Paris to find love, Chaz fell in love with a hooker named Kira (He was originally going to marry a different hooker, but she just wanted him for his money). Kira once had a daughter named Kimi, but the baby was torn from her by law due to her cocaine addiction. (Angelica imagined Kimi from Kira's stories.) Upon return to America, Chaz and Kira married and she got her greencard. It was a surprisingly happy and romantic story. Kira continually stuggled with addiction, but was relatively happy with her new life with Chaz. Suzie was Angelica's only friend, who entertained the thought of Angelica's creations because they seemed to make her happy. She later became a phycologist and teamed up with Nickelodeon to make the Rugrats. When Angelica died of the overdose, Suzie helped arrange her funeral. Because of her addictions and her mental state, Angelica was expelled from society, which lead to a break with reality and her eventual death. She spent the last days of her life in the back of the school cafeteria, imagining friends around her and playing with the lives of her creations.

Spiderman Vs. Batman

Today, I decided to do a something fun. My cousin hit me up on instagram and was like, "you should really do a spiderman vs batman." I didn't want to make it real serious because there would be too much detail involved in drawing it, and I didn't want to be working on it for hours. Decided to try a little chibi/baby style characters.
So what if Spiderman went against Batman? Who would win?

Adventure Time Daily Sketch

Here is my take on the cartoon Adventuretime. I wanted to do something that would give me a break from my work on Stuck On An Eyeland. Do something that I know I could build a fan base on deviantart.com and other places. Mainly, just get more popularity with my art, and also have at some different art styles. So far I'm loving it. This would have to be the first time I really started expanding on ideas that weren't 100% my own. Interpreting popular characters the way you like it is very rewarding.
But I digress. LOL. As I was saying before, This is my take on AdventureTime!!! I've seen the show a few times and I was like...Eh...that's all?... it's fun to watch, don't get me wrong, but what is the point of this show. I gave it a gritty kind of feel to every character and made the two female characters a little (how should I put it...) attractive.

Stay posted on more stuff from my upcoming sketchbook, Anim8in'.

Listening to "Used to be" by Meek Mill
Usage

"Something I came up with while listening to Meek Mill's song "Used to be" off his dreamcatcher's 2 mixtape. I feel this can relate personally."

I used to being used to,
I used to being used too,
Thinking why I used you,
Why I didn’t use you?
I used to cry in the dirt
Thinking about, “why did it hurt”
I should have lied until you hurt
But I want to fly to the heaven
When is my time going to come?
I’m used to being used to
Because I got used to
Use to being used too
I used to grind in the dirt
I used to cry because it hurt
Then I would cry from your dirt
Now I wish he hits you where it hurt
So that you could feel used to.

Why "Stuck On An Eyeland?"

Growing up reading Aaron Mcgruder’s The Boondocks and watching the TV show on Cartoon Network, I was inspired to voice my opinion on they was society was. Since the end of the boondocks syndication, I took it upon myself to pick up where Mcgruder left off. Although the times and event may have changed, one thing I realized is that history is bound to repeat itself in some way, shape, or form. My vision for the series is to create awareness of the injustice and ignorance of society.  We have made great feats in the areas of technology and social justice, but at the end of the day people will act the way they did 100 years ago. Taking place on a secluded island, I can push the events of the story to unimaginable feats. I would love to see this series be turned into something more mainstream, such as a web cartoon or a TV show on cable stations.

What is "Stuck On An Eyeland?"

This story takes place on the island of Taviti. It is a small island in the Pacific Ocean that lies between the islands of Hawaii and Japan. The inhabitants are like that of any other island that is occupied by a first world country. They are upset they were unjustly taken over, but fortunate to have the luxury of modern technology.  Taviti is the epitome of modern day paradise. Yet, the idea of paradise is not reality.
The story is focused on the trials and tribulations of T.J., an African American 12 year old boy, that escapes from his hometown of Sacramento, California to what he thought was paradise.  He later finds realizes that his new home is plagued with the same problems that he tried to escape from.  Instead of trying to escape a second time, he decides to suppress his anguish and deal with the problems head on.
